Immigrants from
Bavaria, Germany
to Blair or Cambria County, Pennsylvania
The following list
contains the names of some of the
19th-century emigrants to the state of Pennsylvania whose
original homeland was located in the German state of Bavaria (Bayern).
After their arrival
to America, these emigrants settled in either Altoona, Blair County,
Pennsylvania
or Carrolltown/Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Many of their Bavarian villages of origin were found to be in the vicinity
of Deggendorf, located in the eastern part
of Bavaria called Niederbayern. You can find Deggendorf on the map to the
right.
These emigrants
were people I have found while working on my own Pennsylvania/Bavarian
genealogy research, and are provided here to possibly help others who are
doing research in Blair and/or Cambria counties.
